Jac takes three clients a day, four days a week. No evenings. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, daytime only. That's about twelve spaces a week.

If this sounds familiar

Wired. Tired. Never quite off.

Two things bring most women here. Pain that won't ease off. A mind that won't stop. Often both, in the same month.

You get into bed tired. Then your mind starts on tomorrow. You sleep eventually, and wake up just as tired.

Your shoulders sit somewhere near your ears. By Wednesday your jaw aches and you can't remember it starting.

Sometimes it's proper pain. A back that's gone, a flare of sciatica. It turns up the week everything else piles up. You look fine. You're not.

The massage helped for an afternoon. The meditation app got deleted in week three. The GP ran the tests and said nothing's wrong. Most evenings it's a glass of wine and the phone, because that's the only off switch that has ever worked.

None of it made you stop. Not properly.

A nervous system that has been switched on for years doesn't power down because it's Saturday.

The problem isn't that you can't cope. The problem is you've coped for so long that your body forgot how to stop.

"I'm exhausted, and I still can't switch off."

The GROUND Method

Six things Jac checks with everyone.

Ground, Rest, Orbit, Unwind, Nourish, Design. It's what she's been doing with every patient for years. She's only just given it a name.

G · Ground

Bare feet on real ground, and the walking that goes with it.

R · Rest

How you wind down, not how long you're in bed.

O · Orbit

The season you're actually in, not the pace you set in June.

U · Unwind

How you breathe when nobody's watching.

N · Nourish

What you eat, and when. Eating with the shape of the day.

D · Design

The desk you sit at and the room you stop in.

None of it is complicated. Jac's training is what tells her which one to start with.

The GROUND Method

The £47 course is recording now. The first group stays small.

Jac's six pillars, written down. The Nervous-System Reset course teaches them at your own kitchen table, and the private twelve weeks applies them to your week.

The book

Still Yourself

Being written now. Title may still change.

A book about grief, and the body that carried on anyway. What Jac says to a woman on the table, written down.

The getaway

The Wellness Getaway

Being built now. First dates to the list.

A day in Jac's garden: lodge, cold plunge, breathwork, acupuncture. A garden holds a handful of people, so the first day will be small.
